• Memphis native Chris Arena delivers what the music lover in all of us is looking for: the honesty of lyrics that dig deeper than the bones and melodies that hum louder than your own thoughts. His self-titled debut album, mixed by Tony Maserati, (Jason Mraz, John Legend) fuses the aching intimacy of Nick Drake with the atmospheric sensibilities of Bright Eyes and Alexi Murdoch. Married to these sounds are aching, yearning lyrics that speak to the bittersweet struggles Arena has overcome and the bigger story that is his life.
  
   Since 2008, Arena has played for thousands of fans up and down the east coast from Memphis to New York, and has collaborated with Rick Steff (Cat Power, Gin Blossoms, George Thorogood). Upon relocating to Philadelphia in 2009, his work was featured in film icon Alex DePhillipo's documentary Dark Fall, and caught the attention of published poet Vincent John Ancona, who wrote that the album “features deeply honest lyrics, ethereal music and a wisdom well beyond his years which compels us to listen.”
